What's the right size for you?
When it comes to throwing a party and cleaning up after it, unless it is an absolute rager, you won't need anything above a 10 Yard or 15 Yard dumpster rental. The 10 Yard is comparable to the size of a convertilbe, while the 15 Yard is comparable to the size of a regular sedan.
What can you throw away?
You can throw away most of the trash that you might have at any regular party. Whether it's those red solo party cups, paper plates, bottles, cans, etc. The only types of waste we ask customers not to throw away are generaly toxic, hazardous or explosive, so no live fireworks in the dumpster. Outside of these types of hazardous waste, you are clear to throw any of your party waste.
How much can it hold?
Our smallest dumpster size is the 10 Yard dumpster rental. It can roughly hold 50 to 70 33-Gallon trash bags in there.
For the more intense parties, you might want to look towards the 10 yards bigger brother, the 15 yard, which can hold roughly 80 to 100 33-Gallon trash bags.
Where can I put it?
It is very common for people to keep their dumpsters on their driveway since they usually don't need to apply for a license to place it on their driveway. If you need the full driveway for partygoers to place their cars, then you have two other options.
One, you can keep the dumpster on your grass, however, be aware that this might cause some damage to your grass and the land, we place plywood in order to help prevent this damage, but due to the softness of the land, there is most likely going to be damage.
Two, you can place the dumpster on the side of your street, however, you first need to see if your municipality/HOA will allow that, and second, you need to apply for a license beforehand. This route might be better for block parties, you want a central location where you can throw out your trash so keeping one on the street might be the best bet. Also, since you have to get all the permits for the block party itself, it wouldn't take an extra trip to get a permit for that dumpster rental.
For those that are throwing a party in one of Illinois great forrest preserves, make sure that you double check with the agency that administers the paperwork, letting them know that you plan on getting your own dumpter.
